A good article on ideas for lowering college costs
Here. I was particularly interested in # 5, which talks about a program I'd never heard of before, MyRichUncle, which provides money from private investors to college students who need help with education expenses. In return, a student agrees to pay a fixed percentage of their gross future income for a fixed period. "They pay less when they make less," says Raza Khan, managing director of MyRichUncle. "They pay more when they make more." This is an education investment not a loan, so there's no interest to pay. Read more at the link above. There are good links in the article to get you started on looking for scholarships, or investigating on working off your college costs with community service, too. Hope this helps somebody.
