Advice on Moving Out?
I'm a FL resident in a wee bit of advice on moving out of my parents' house on my own into an apartment or perhaps even a house. I'll be moving out with a good friend and between us we have two small dogs (under 10lbs), a cat, and a 10 gal. aquarium. Depending on the situation, we may even be able to procure a third petless roommate. We're all fairly responsible but woefully clueless on what kind of funds we should be amassing, procedures we should be going through, etc. I should also mention we all work parttime and go to college. Any and all help will be much appreciated. Thanks! EDIT: My sincerest apologies ^_^;; There are more than enough entries on moving out to benefit my future roomies and I (not to mention the wonderful advice I've been given already). I'll be more specific about my question: What we are most concerned (besides our pets) with is our proximity. I'll be going into the medical field which means transferring to a university 3hrs away (University of FL, to be specific). I want to take as many classes towards my Bachelor's at a local community college first but I'll have to transfer eventually and I know moves are expensive. My friend can get a transfer since she works at a large movie rental chain but we've centralized all of our activities to the county we currently live in. My friend has health issues and goes to the local military hospital to reduce the cost (navy brat benefits lol) and I also have a disabled parent I want to keep a close but respectfully distant eye on. Is it more prudent to move closer to the university or to stay within county and bear with the drive? I know a few may say for me to wait until I actually have to move on to a university to continue my BA but my future roomie's family will be moving to Tallahassee within the year and she's not planning on going with them. Based on this, what would you suggest? C: My apologies for the extensive edit!
