The exterminator came in, confirmed we have a light infestation. The landlord called and said "Ok, since tenants usually bring them in, we will be nice and pay half of the extermination fees."
UH, pardon me?
I knew that it is law for a landlord to pay extermination fees. So I called Legal Aid of Cincinnati, and the first thing they said was "Oh, he is trying to get out of paying." They gave me some keywords to google to look for info, and to have documentation. He has to cover extermination fees because it falls under "repairs", etc.
Has anyone had this fight before? How did it turn out? What did the landlord try to do?
EDIT: So, I talked to the landlord. The manager for this building had no clue, so he sent me to the main guy that owns all the buildings.
This guy knew NOTHING about bedbugs, and thought I might be "overreacting". I started talking about them, and he just sounded flabberghasted about how these little bastards spread. They have agreed to cover it 100%.
