Car Accident Question……..

Car Accident Question……..

Heya. I have a question regarding a car accident I was in, and the likelihood my car will get totaled. Didn't know if anyone here had a smiliar experience and therefore some insight to offier......

I was rear-ended last week. The other driver's insurance company has accepted full liability for the accident. That ins. co. is willing to cover the repairs on my vehicle, along with the rental I will need while said repairs are being done. I have already selected which body shop I would like to take my car to. All that has been set. I have a 1997 fully-loaded Volvo wagon that I bought just this last Feb. Since the car is financed, I have full coverage thru my insurance co. I'm a California resident.

All of the damage is to the rear bumper, the back passenger quarter panel, and the back passenger door has been knocked askew. The car is still driveable, although the rear mudflap on the passenger side has been jammed toward the tire, not allowing much room should the tire expand due to heat. The rear passenger door is temporarily being held shut with a bungee cord so I don't get pulled over for the door flapping the in the breeze. The front end has only minor cosmetic bruising in the front bumper...the "guts" are fine. The car is presently worth $7900.00, and I owe about 7600.00 on it.

Here is my question: How likely is it the car will get totaled? I so do not want this to happen! I can't afford another vehible; I lost my job last month and have been barely getting by, if at all. No lender will give me a car loan based on my EDD income. I love this car and do not want it totaled. Anyone out there with prior experience with this? I keep hearing horror stories about ins. cos totalling just about anything these days!

Anyone? Bueller?Bueller?
