HELP. Does this sound unreasonable?
In a few weeks I will be moving out of my parent's house into an apartment. The apartment is cheap- hooray. However, I'm worried about moving in, as I think it may be detrimental to my health. I'll list the problems here: fleas, ants, spiders (found 2 brown recluses), possible mice (fecal evidence), black mold, water damaged peeling walls, brick dust, pet smell, mildew smells, stained carpet, and finally at least one hole in the ceiling. Well, the place is going to be fumigated. The carpets will be professionally cleaned. The roof was fixed so there will be no further water damage. However, the mold, peeling walls, and brick dust worry me. In one room we peeled some of the paper/paint away and sprayed the mold with Windex w/ Ammonia. But the people helping me work on the place don't want to finish the job by peeling the walls completely and spraying for mold. Is fumigation and cleaned carpets enough? Does Ammonia kill mold? Should I stay home?
