heritage veg

heritage veg

I made my list of seeds for the coming year then realised: I actually feel ready to try some heritage varieties. I've believed in this idea since I was about 14 and first got interested in farming but never quite got around to growing heritage veg. They've always felt like a bit of a responsibility. But it seems that you can just buy and grow them, without becoming a Seed Guardian. Also I think my gardening skills are good enough by now that I'll be able to work out whether the outcomes are due to the variety or to the way I've grown it. So I'm thinking of heritage leeks, beetroots and swedes. Those crops being ones that we like in our house and that I've found reasonably easy to grow. All comments and tips welcome!
