The front of my house gets full southern exposure and the few roses that I have are minis and do extremely well. I was going to have a perennial bed all along the front of the house but I am now considering making the entire thing one big rose garden. The section I am talking about is probably about 15 feet wide and six foot deep. Because it is an embankment, it could be difficult to tend to if the plants get too big. That is my problem. I think that I would like roses that get between 3 and 4 feet high, but don’t get really bushy. If they fill out to much it will be difficult for me to tend to them. I would also like to have heavy repeat bloomers of course! I have been looking at minis and Jackson/Perkins New Generation roses because they have their own root stock and are easier to take care of. But its hard for me to figure out how full plants get because only height is listed. Should I be looking for floribundas, hybrids, English? I also want a climbing rose for a section of privacy fence. How do I provide support other than a trellis? Thanks in advance!
